The small things, done properly
Add transactions by hand, preview a CSV import before it runs, mortgage payments counted as expenses, a list of your signed-in devices, and many smaller fixes.

Over the last two weeks, we went through every screen in Paiso as a new user would and wrote down everything that slowed us down, confused us or looked wrong. Then we fixed it. Here are the changes you are most likely to notice.
Transactions
- Add a transaction by hand. Open Transactions and select Add transaction, on any plan.
- See an import before it runs. When you import a CSV file, Paiso now shows what it will do first: which transactions are new, which are already in Paiso, and which rows it could not read and why. Nothing changes until you confirm.
- Mortgage payments are expenses. A mortgage payment now counts as spending, in a new Mortgage category under Expense, so your housing cost shows in Cash Flow and your savings rate. Car, student and other loan payments stay transfers.
- Clearer payroll and transfers. A paycheck shows the description your bank sends, and both sides of a transfer share one category.
- Stat cards follow the filter. The figures above the transaction list now match the account you filter by, and amounts carry their sign.

Budgets
On the Advanced plan, your budget now counts each payment once, leaves out credit card payments (the purchases already count), and grades only the months since the budget began. When you build a budget from your history, the button names the months it averages.
Connected accounts
- Stop syncing one account. When a bank shares several accounts with Paiso, you can stop syncing one of them in a single step, with no bank sign-in, and keep it as a manual account with its history.
- A returning account keeps its history. If you stop sharing an account with Paiso and share it again later, Paiso reattaches it to the account you already had instead of importing it twice.
- Clearer messages. Paiso says which accounts stopped syncing, and a sync says what is new instead of how many rows it refreshed.
- Net worth for new connections. When you connect an account, Paiso now values it on every earlier day too, so your net worth chart does not jump on the day you connected it.
Property and investments
- A home can use the mortgage you already entered, and you can edit its purchase and loan details later. Paiso shows the monthly payment as you type and refuses values that cannot be right.
- Paiso looks up a fund’s expense ratio as soon as you add it or sync it, and you can add one yourself when Paiso cannot find it.
- The day change no longer reads $0 in the evening.
Security
Settings, then Security, now lists each device signed in to your account, with when it signed in and when it was last used, so you can check the count and sign the others out.
Everywhere
- Forms tell you what is missing, beside the field, instead of greying out the button.
- On a phone, every row of tabs is a strip of pills you can scroll.
- Drawers and dialogs work with a screen reader, and every icon button has a name.
- Each browser tab names the page you are on, for example “Stocks & Funds · Investments · Paiso”.
- If you return to Paiso after a free period, Paiso tells you why there is no new one before you pay.
