Frequently asked questions

Step-by-step guides are in the Help Center.

Plans and billing

What does Paiso cost?

Paiso has two plans on sale, Basic and Advanced, and you can pay monthly or yearly. The pricing page shows the current prices and any free period on offer.

Is there a free plan?

No. Paiso shows no ads and never sells your data, so subscriptions pay for the service. When Paiso runs a promotion, a new subscription starts with a free period.

Do I need a card to start?

Yes. You enter a card when you choose a plan. If your plan starts with a free period, Paiso charges the card when that period ends.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can move between Basic and Advanced from Settings, under Billing, at any time.

What happens if I cancel?

Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. After that, your account becomes read-only. Paiso keeps your data until you delete your account, and you can renew at any time.

What is the Pro plan?

Pro is in development and not on sale yet. It adds RSUs and vesting schedules, tax performance, and retirement and life planning.

Your data

Does Paiso sell my data?

No. Paiso never sells your data and does not use it for advertising.

Can Paiso see my bank password?

No. When you connect a bank, you sign in inside Plaid. Your bank username and password never reach Paiso.

Can Paiso move my money?

No. Paiso reads balances, transactions, holdings and liabilities. It cannot make payments or transfers.

How do I protect my account?

Turn on two-factor authentication in Settings, under My Account. Paiso then asks for a code from your authenticator app when you sign in.

Accounts and imports

Do I have to connect my bank?

No. On every plan you can add accounts by hand and import transactions from CSV files. Connecting a bank is part of the Advanced plan.

Which banks can I connect?

Paiso connects through Plaid. You can search for your bank in the Plaid window when you select Connect a bank.

What can I track?

Cash, credit card, loan and mortgage accounts. Stocks, ETFs and mutual funds. Property and other assets.

Self-hosting

Can I host Paiso myself?

Paiso will be open source, so you will be able to run it on your own server. The source code is not public yet. The self-hosting page has the details.
